Advanced Icon Editing: Create a Transparent Icon Using MicroAngelo
Figure
IV - Studio's Selection Frame.
4. Now that you have edited the
gray icon to have an orange background ,
it's time to proceed moving the lock lower than the
key in relative position. You can do this
using Studio's tool
called "Selection Frame" by
clicking on it. You then Left click + drag + release
the mouse to just surround the lock. See figure
IV. Once
it's selected and I have released the mouse button. Then
move the mouse cursor back to the selected lock area.
There appears a "move cursor" that will allow the
movement of the selected area. Simply left-click + hold
down + drag the mouse to the desired location. Use orange
to fill in the white space left behind with the pencil
tool. That's it! You should have something that looks
like this: Now
you can "Save As" , rename it, and choose Icon Resource.
5. Now the first icon is complete but we still need to
create a version using a transparent background. The
transparency swatch will be selected instead of a color
from the palette. It's the little icon that looks like
this <--
looks like a small green square. Go ahead and select
it and then use
a tool like pencil to fill-in the areas you want to make
transparent. Using this tranparency swatch is much like
using any color and it's usually displayed as a blue-green
color when you are using it. Now you can save your new
transparent background icon. That's
it! -------------------------- <<
