How to Changing Desktop Icon Spacing

Changing Desktop Icon Spacing in Windows XP adjustments can be made to horizontal and vertical alignment spacing.

Here is a sample question I received from someone using Windows XP:

"My Computer Icons are too far apart. How do I make my desktop icons line up closer together? Windows XP"

Steps for spacing desktop icons horizontal and vertical.
1. Right Click Desktop + Choose “Properties”
2. In the Properties Window click on the “Appearance Tab” at the top.
3. In the Appearance Window click on the button called “Advanced”.
4. In the Advanced Appearance Window choose “Item:” from the drop down list and choose “Icon Spacing (Horizontal)” and you can choose desired Icon spacing. Likewise the same steps can be used to change Vertical spacing.

Example: Advanced Appearance showing "Item" and "Icon Spacing" is selected.
