Photoshop: Creating Website Buttons - Duplicate Layer and Use Move Tool to Align the Second Circle

Step 6 - Duplicate Layer. Now that you have filled your Left Curve, the next step is to make a copy of it so it can become the Right Curve of your website button. The way you copy the circle is to choose "DUPLICATE LAYER" while having the Left Curve layer selected. The example below illustrates this. Simply name the new layer Right Curve.

Step 6 - Duplicate Layer - Name the New Layer "Right Curve"
Duplicate Layer - Name the New Layer "Right Curve"
Once you create the third layer called Right Curve go ahead and select it. Note: You should see a total of three layers at this stage (Background, Left Curve, Right Curve)

Step 7 - Move Tool. Using the MOVE TOOL located in the Tools Palette move Right Curve to the right but keeping it vertically aligned to the original circle. You can move elements with precision using the arrow keys on your keyboard. In the example I used my right arrow on the keyboard to move it to the right. If you manually move the circle you may lose alignment.

Step 7 - Filling Your Circle with a Color Using the Paint Bucket

Below you can see the circles are perfectly aligned. This is because I used the arrow keys instead of manually moving the circle with my mouse.
