Various / None Various or None Non-Standard Icons

Compatible Misfit Icons are perfectly acceptable for use in more than one type of application. On the other hand, Total Misfits are icons that simply don't fit into ANY standard size. Total Misfits may appear distorted or won't work at all. See examples below that illustrate this:

Compatible Misfit Icon
Rogue Icon
(50 x 50 Animated .gif)
Total Misfit
 WTF Icon
(64 x 42 animated .gif)
A forum Avatar that is perfectly acceptable for use as a buddy icon because it's a standard 50 x 50 size.

Total Misfit Icon
Nothing uses this 64 x 42 size besides applications that allow for odd sizes.

The Compatible Misfit could probably be used as a Buddy Icon or as an Avatar without any issues. On the other hand, the Total Misfit on the right, might look distorted like this if you attempted to use it as a Buddy Icon for AOL Instant Messenger. -- >distorted misfitThis is because it is not a standard 50 x 50 pixel size.

If you tried to use this Total Misfit as an emoticon it might look like this little animated smudge --> smudge misfit if the particular application had a strict maximum size set for its emoticons. To make matters worse, the Total Misfit is .gif format so it cannot be used as a desktop icon unless you convert it to a desktop icon and would even have to resize it in a graphics editor of some kind t make it look right. Probably the only place for the Total Misfit would be on a personal Web page where size can be set in the HTML so distortion would not occur.

Very few Total Misfits Icons exist on AlienEntity but you may find a few. If you come across them you will need to determine how they can be used. Most .ico Desktop Icons will be fine to use in Windows but you may find a few Buddy Icons, Avatars or other sets that contain a few rogues or misfits.
