Flags
of the World Buddy Icons series I covers countries
starting with the letter "a" - Afghanistan
through the Azores. Series II and all other countries
will be added gradually in and around the release of
other icon sets. I don't know if all countries participate in
the 2004 Olympic Games but this was
the main inspiration for creating these images.
Square Flags ? What
the *&^#)$%!
AIM Buddy Icons are generally 50 x 50 pixel squares. Flags
as you know are actually rectangular in shape so it's somewhat of a challenge
creating flags to fit this format. In every instance I have tried to keep
the main country flag characteristics, colors or symbols intact by simply
shifting elements around a bit. So far there have only been a few instances
where a country symbol becomes lost to some degree, e.g. the fish crest
in the flag of Anguilla but this is mainly due to the scale.
What's next ?
