Icons Appear Sideways

Steps to take if your Windows desktop icons appear sideways and not upright.

What to Do If Your Desktop Icons Appear Sideways

Question: Would you be kind enough to show me how I can turn the icons on my computer to be upright?  As of now they are sideways.  I have tried endlessly. -- Diana

Answer:
Video card rotation settings, or possibly monitor rotation settings for certain types of monitors, can sometimes account for this kind of strange sideways or not upright orientation. In this example, I will show the steps to change NVIDIA video card rotation settings from the NVIDIA control panel.

1. Look on your taskbar or the location where your video card control panel is located.

2. Select Rotate Display or Rotation Settings.

3. Make sure your rotation settings are set at zero "0" degrees or No Rotation (Landscape).
